Overview

THE DREAM JOURNEY 5D/4N

It is one of the best experices in which you can visit Machu Picchu for a second time. The first day you will visit the Citadel in the afternoon and the second day you are going to visit in the morning, in fact is a good option to make the walk extra Huaynapicchu Mountain (depending on availability) from where you can have a panoramic view of all the citadel. In this itinerary you also have the opportunity to visit the city of Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arriving Hotel Transfer +city tour 

We will pick you up from the airport in Cusco and you will have a free morning.

We will pick you up from your hotel at 1:30 pm  in private transport and drive about 20 minutes to the hills above Cusco. We will visit the amazing Inca sites of Puka Pukara (an Inca military outpost), Tambomachay (where you can see Inca aqueducts), and finally visit the massive boulders that make up the ruins at Sacsayhuaman. After taking time to enjoy the majestic views over Cusco, we will be picked up by our driver and return to Cusco.

Day 2: Main Square, San Cristobal, Chinchero, Maras & Moray

We will pick you up from your hotel to take the best pictures with a stop in the Main square and San Cristobal then we will travel to Chinchero where we will then walk through the beautiful village and visit the textiles workshop where we will watch a demonstration of local weavers who are still using traditional Inca patterns and techniques for dyeing fabric. Here you will have time to browse the shop which sells Inca style purses, tablecloths, wall hangings, and many other colorful and exquisitely patterned artisanal goods.  We then continue on to Moray we will look down below to contemplate the enigmatic concentric circles that made up an Incan agricultural laboratory. Hike down into the archaeological site with a private guided tour of the ruins that served as one of the main amphitheaters for the Incas where they performed rituals and ceremonies.

Finally we will go to  Maras, the famous and ancient salt mines that have been used since pre-Inca times to evaporate salt from an underground stream.The salt is highly valued in the gourmet cuisine.

It is truly a breathtaking site.

Day 3: Train VISTADOME from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes & Machupicchu

We start with an early morning transfer from your hotel to Ollantaytambo train station where you will catch your train to Aguas Calientes. This is a train journey where you will enjoy breathtaking views from the highlands to the Sacred Valley and a trip along the Vilcanota river. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes we will transfer you to the hotel .In the afternoon we highly recommend the guided tour around Machu Picchu ruins because it is not as crowded as in the morning. You will definitely enjoy more of the tour in the afternoon. Our professional tour guide will show you around the archeological citadel of Machu Picchu including its temples, terraces, aqueducts, houses and more. After the guided tour you will return to your hotel.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco

Today we will take the earliest bus to Machupicchu, you have the whole morning  to explore Machu Picchu. This is also a great opportunity to climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain for an amazing view of the Machu Picchu citadel from the top. Considered as a difficult hike, this option is really worth it if you want to challenge yourself. Otherwise, you have plenty of options for hiking and exploring different areas of the Machu Picchu citadel. During the afternoon, we have a transfer back to Aguas Calientes to catch our train service back to Cusco.
